Women’s Forum Update
The women’s forum held a coffee morning on the 24th of September in
aid of the cancer charity MacMillan and raised a great
£77.00. Our star baker Jo Gauden created a fantastic MacMillan cake for the raffle. It was a great opportunity for members to get together and have a chat over a cuppa, raise some money for an amazing charity and of course enjoy some cake! MacMillan carry out some excellent work, for more information you can visit: www.MacMillan.org.uk
Candidates for May 2017
At our recent meetings we have discussed the upcoming council elections in May 2017 and the importance of female representation. Experienced councillors and members have offered support and guidance to any women members thinking of standing. The importance of ensuring a good gender balance within the party remains a key objective of the forum.
Trident Debate With Dr John Cox
Dr John Cox attended our latest meeting as a guest speaker, talking on the subject of Trident. It was great to hear from John and it is always enjoyable to have the opportunity to discuss and debate such topical issues in a friendly and relaxed environment. The forum hope to have more guest speakers over the coming months. If any women members would like to see a specific topic discussed at a future meeting, please do let me know.
If you are interested in coming along to a forum meeting we are a friendly and welcoming bunch, please do not hesitate to contact me for further information at: firstname.lastname@example.org
